Adults deserve camp fun, too

We think it’s totally unfair that the fun has to stop when someone turns 18. And that’s why we’re committed to providing social and camping programs for neurodivergent adults.

SkyWild Summit

SkyWild Summit is an immersive overnight program designed for adults to explore independence, build lasting friendships, and embrace new adventures. At SkyWild Summit, participants practice communal living, honing essential life skills like meal preparation and basic cleaning in a supportive, hands-on environment.

Each day offers opportunities to grow through self-chosen sessions that focus on healthy living, self-care, career development, self-advocacy, and more. Beyond skill-building, the program invites participants to experience the joy of traditional camp activities, creating memories around the campfire, enjoying nature, and connecting with others.

SkyWild Summit is more than a program—it's a place to find your peak, your people, and your path. Whether you're gaining confidence in daily tasks, discovering new passions, or forging lifelong bonds, the adventure starts here.

Summit FAQ

  • To ensure a safe, enjoyable, and inclusive experience for all, participants in the Camp SkyWild Adult Skills Program must meet the following independence requirements:

    • Personal Care: Participants must be fully independent with showering and toileting.

    • Transitions: Participants should be able to independently navigate short transitions between locations at camp.

    • Decision-Making: Participants should be able to make activity choices with minimal prompting or assistance.

    • Living Arrangements: Participants must be comfortable sharing living spaces with other neurodivergent adults and camp staff. Sleeping arrangements include shared rooms with 1-2 other adults, and participants must be able to sleep without disturbing others.

    • Behavioral Considerations: Participants should not use aggression as a primary form of communication.

This program is designed to provide an engaging summer camp experience while simulating the responsibilities and joys of independent living. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in meeting these requirements to ensure a supportive environment for everyone.

  • The Summit Program is designed to combine the joys of independent communal living with a retreat or conference-style daily schedule that provides opportunities for self-directed learning and exploration. Participants will sleep in dorm-style housing, prepare their breakfast and lunch, and attend workshops focused on self-care, self-advocacy, healthy living, job and career development, and traditional camp fun. Dinner will be eaten in the dining hall, and evening programs will include The Hollow, a mini “town” with social activities designed to mimic a true night out.

  • The Summit Program has fewer staff than our traditional summer camp programs, as the aim is to live as adults in shared adult spaces. Staff are at least 21 years old, and come from a variety of professional backgrounds: education, youth recreation, healthcare, etc. Staff are present to facilitate workshops and provide light assistance where needed, but mostly they are at camp to be peers, learning and participating in the experience, too.
